Meeting- 27th Oct.

So I'm sorry I didn't post anything last week. To make up for that I decided that this week's post will be updated straight after our weekly meeting.

Today we quickly discussed the upcoming events (more details will follow), and we finalized the ideas for the upcoming stunt this Friday.

So what's going on this week?!

We have a special Pub Quiz this Thursday, which will have some "green" rounds in it. It's happening at the union at 8pm (come early as the tables get filled up quickly) We are probably going to have our own team. Prizes to be won (wine, chocolate & tons of money; all we need in life) so COME!

For anyone interested in having a say in UCL's sustainability, come to the Sustainability Committee Meeting on Thursday 11-12 :30 pm.

I got some more details about the London Regional Meeting. It's happening this Saturday at Amnesty International House (11-6pm). Anyone is welcome, there's no need for registration (there will be workshops about the Go Green Campaign & Ditch Dirty Development, with some media and publicity workshops!

THIS FRIDAY:
1-2pm, we are organizing a stunt which will be taking place in the Quad!! We would like to point out to all of our UCL friends, how badly our great university is doing when it comes to environmental issues ( such as recycling, CO2 emissions etc.)

UCL IS 98TH IN THE GREEN LEAGUE !!! quite disgraceful! (there are around 100 universities int the ranking)

Tuesday 13th October Meeting

Here we go! The very first post on our new P&P blog!!

A quick sum up of our extremely productive meeting on tuesday (to be exact Tuesday the 13th of October)

Few exciting events coming up:

The 350 Stunt is happening this Friday 23rd ( good opportunity to get to know some SOAS people, as this is a joint event). I am not sure if this is the set time, but the one proposed was 1-2 pm at the UCL Quad.

On the 31st of October, there will be a London Regional Meeting organized by the national People&Planet (anyone wishing to find out more about our P&P parents, this is something for you!! )

Also, there is a Green Pub-quiz coming up. I am not sure of the date, but for sure it's a Thursday (that's the quiz night in the union), so if I hear anything more in detail I will update it on here.

I think that's all about the events but look out for any promising socials coming up in P&P (I heard some rumors of a night out, possibly inSpiral in Camden).. mmmm.. sounds good to me.

The second part of the meeting was a PURE EXPLOSION OF IDEAS! ( That was great everyone) So just to refresh everyone's memory and maybe get more creations going, here's the list:

• Emphasis on advertising; How to show everyone what a great society we are? ;) ( and so we don't get anymore questions such as What is it about or what do you do ? ) AH!!!
  
• Collaborating with Modo Fashion Society ( there was some vague knowledge of them doing a green campaign) we should definitely find out more about that.
• Organizing a craft Give-it-a-Go event ( creating gifts out of plastic bags, recycled paper etc.?)
• P&P posters, The tip of the week, how to be more environment friendly as a UCL student (we have a volunteer to do the first poster; can't wait to see those hanging around UCL)

These all seem like great projects!! Let's get them going !! (they might have been more ideas shouted out, but these are all the ones I caught on paper. So I hope I didn't miss anything, if so please just post a comment below)
